EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and our work with the new requirements

Update

On December 17, 2025, the European Parliament adopted a postponement and simplification of the EUDR. Under the revised timeline, small enterprises will only be required to comply with the regulation from June 30, 2027. Simplified due diligence requirements are also being introduced for downstream operators and small enterprises. We continue to monitor developments and will provide updates as clarity emerges.

EUDR is a frequent topic of discussion in our industry and for good reason. The regulation will have a major impact on everyone working with wood and natural materials.

Although the overall framework of EUDR is known, the details are still being developed. A proposal has been made to postpone the implementation, but a final decision has not yet been made. There is therefore still uncertainty regarding both the timeline and the specific requirements.

We are actively working to adapt to the regulation and ensure that we meet the requirements as they become clearer.

We have already taken several steps:

  • We are FSC®-certified, which documents traceability and supports responsible sourcing of wood from legal and deforestation-free origins.
  • We work closely with our suppliers to ensure full transparency throughout the value chain.
  • We have engaged an external FSC® consultant to assist us in understanding and implementing the upcoming requirements.
  • We continuously follow developments and guidance from the European Commission.

Although many details are still pending, we are strengthening our documentation, traceability, and cooperation across the value chain. Our goal is to comply with all requirements once EUDR enters into force.

NORNA PLAYGROUNDS has been FSC® certified within the Chain of Custody since 2011.
The certification ensures that all wood can be traced from the forest to the finished product, providing a guarantee of documented responsible sourcing.
